Embassy exchanges with members of the Spanish Club at a High School in Jamaica

Honouring an invitation made by Ms. Monique Collins, faculty advisor for the Spanish Club at the Immaculate Conception High School in this capital, a representation of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica participated in a meeting held by the schools’ Spanish Club, an initiative that is part of the language immersion program developed by the faculty staff.

Increased the number of Cuban health professionals in Jamaica

A new group of Cuban health professionals arrived this afternoon in this capital to provide medical services in hospitals and public health centres in Jamaica.

This happens just a few days after the renewal of the Agreement for Technical Cooperation in Health between the Ministries of Public Health of Cuba and Jamaica.

The official signing ceremony of the new Agreement for Technical Cooperation in Health between Cuba and Jamaica took place this morning, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica.

The document was signed by the Minister of Health and Wellness of Jamaica, the Honourable Dr.Christopher Tufton, and the Head of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández.

Kingston, Jamaica, 22 February 2020. Friday, February 21, 2020 in the evening, the Second Meeting on Professional Development for the Cuban community residing in Jamaica was held at the headquarters of the Embassy of Cuba. The event, organized by members of the ´Antonio Maceo´ Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica, brought together more than 50 participants, and aimed to provide them with means to facilitate their insertion into the Jamaican society, and clarify doubts about consular and migratory procedures in this country.
