The Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association condemns in the strongest language, the vile attempts by current leadership of the United States of America, to asphyxiate the economy of our sister country and bringing untold hardship on its people, as part of their continued desperate attempt to impose a system of governance which was firmly rejected in the successful revolution of 1959 led by Fidel.

The commercial, economic and financial blockade of the Government of the United States against the Republic of Cuba began on October 19, 1960, less than two years after the triumph of the Revolution. On February 7, 1962 it was extended to include virtually all commercial relations.
This is the most complete, systematic and long-standing blockade against any country in the history of mankind.
