Havana, June 2, 2019. The Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade specializing in disasters and serious epidemics is maintaining on Monday its willingness to provide assistance to the countries that need it.

Upon arriving in Cuba in the past hours, a group of 40 experts expressed their satisfaction for taking care of the life of the people of Mozambique, an African nation that suffered the effects of a powerful hurricane in March.

Havana, June 1st, 2019.FIDEL, as a disciple of José Martí, 22 days after the revolutionary triumph of 1959, and on his first visit to Caracas, presented his integrationist thought, valid today and for all time:

“I want the concept of homeland to have a greater scope, that on referring to our country we are referring to the great America that our small homelands make up.”

It was very clear that the visionary Fidel was thinking and planning to build that great homeland, a dream frustrated over a hundred years of colonialism and an annexed Republic.

In the presence of the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials) and Member of the National Assembly of the People´s Power, "ÖKG", the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association celebrated the 50th anniversary of its foundation.

Kingston, Jamaica, 31 May 2019. The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica hosted the awarding ceremony for the scholarships offered each year by the Cuban Government to young Jamaicans, to pursue medical studies in the Largest Island of the Antilles.

Neither the rain nor the heavy traffic on Friday in Kingston could frustrate the celebration, chaired by the Ambassador of Cuba Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, and attended by representatives of the Jamaican Government and civil society organizations, the awardees and their relatives.

Montreal, May 30, 2019.- On Thursday May 29, Cuban Ambassador to Canada, H.E. Josefina Vidal, payed a working visit to Radio Canada, a Montreal-based French-language radio and television station.

Ambassador Vidal met with RC Executive Director of News and Current Affairs, Ms. Luce Julien, who was accompanied by her team members Mr. Frédéric Vanasse, RDI Director of Continued Information; Ginette Viens, RC Senior Director of Journalism and Programming; and journalists Jean Michel Leprince, Martín Movilla and Luc Chartrand.

They explored the existing prospects for cooperation with Cuba and discussed how to strengthen the links between the francophone news channel and the diplomatic mission of Cuba in Canada.

As part of his intensive program of work in Europe, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials) and Member of the National Assembly of the People's Power, held a fruitful meeting with the President of the Slovenian-Cuban Friendship Association, Igor Jurisic, and other members of that solidarity organization.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernandez was invited by Naser Kanani, Ambassador of Iran in Egypt, to participate in the Iftar held on the occasion of Al-Quds Day, which takes place on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials) and Member of the National Assembly of the People´s Power arrived in Austria, to participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of “ÖKG”, Austria-Cuba Friendship Association.

In the context of the 72nd Assembly of the World Health Organization, in Geneva, the Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Abdulla Ameen, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which reflects the interest of both parties to strengthen bilateral relations of cooperation in the health sector.

Both Ministers exchanged about the next steps to be taken in order to implement the MOU signed during this bilateral meeting.
