The Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials) and Member of the National Assembly of the People´s Power arrived in Austria, to participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of “ÖKG”, Austria-Cuba Friendship Association.

In the context of the 72nd Assembly of the World Health Organization, in Geneva, the Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Abdulla Ameen, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which reflects the interest of both parties to strengthen bilateral relations of cooperation in the health sector.

Both Ministers exchanged about the next steps to be taken in order to implement the MOU signed during this bilateral meeting.

With participation in the commemorative events for the National Day of Georgia, exchanges with the President of this nation, Salome Zurabishvili, the Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze, and bilateral meetings in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Parliament, the working visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, to this Caucasian nation was developed.

Cuba participated today in the General Assembly debate on Intergovernmental Negotiations on Security Council Reform, where it reiterated that only through debate, in the established time and frameworks, will it be possible to define a path towards a consensus in relation to this reform, on which there are deep disagreements among the delegations.

The vice president of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture of the Parliament of Georgia and president of the Group of Friendship with Cuba, deputy Guguli Magradze, reiterated the solidarity and friendship of her people with the Cuban nation, receiving in Tbilisi the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.

The parliamentarian expressed her satisfaction at periodically maintaining contacts with the Cuban mission and considered it very important to strengthen ties with the Island's counterparts.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Vilma Reyes Valdespino received, at her headquarters, Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Apostolic Nuncio to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with residence in Trinidad and Tobago.

His Excellency, Mr. Nwachukwu, attended the Cuban Mission in the company of Vincentian Bishop Gerard County and Reverend Mike Steward.

With the headline "Cuba celebrates National Holiday of Azerbaijan" the state news agency of this Caucasian nation AZERTAC and the digital media AZVISION.AZ publish about the event held in Havana on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

They inform the media that the event was held at the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and reaffirms the bonds of brotherhood between both nations.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro and the official, Mayra Caridad León Pérez, participated in the ceremony for the Day of the Liberation of Africa, invited by the Organization for the Victory of the People (OVP) , Which also dedicated the commemoration to the revolution of Cuba and Venezuela.

This event was chaired by Mr. Gerald Perreira, President of the Organization for the Victory of the People, and Mr. Lincoln Lewis, General Secretary of the Congress of Trade Unions of Guyana (GTUC). Both personalities and those attending the event highlighted the history of the struggle of the peoples of Africa for their liberation and called for solidarity with the Cuban and Venezuelan revolution.
