50 years after Che's death, the Cuban Embassy in Egypt paid homage to the Heroic Guerrilla Fighter on October 14 in Cairo with the collaboration of the Egypt- Latin America and Egypt-Cuba Friendship Associations, the Syndicate of Journalists of Egypt and the Al-Ahram newspaper.The validity of Che's legacy and his ties to the Arab nation from his visits to Egypt in 1959 and 1965 were the focus of the speeches made by some of the personalities participating in the event.
The economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States against Cuba for almost 60 years still persists, continues to cause suffering to the Cuban people and obstructs the economic development of the country. The purpose of this Report is to summarize the negative impacts resulting from the implementation of this policy from April 2016 to June 2017.
Kingston, Jamaica, October 14th, 2017. Members of the Association of Cubans Resident in Jamaica Antonio Maceo y Grajales issued a statement to condemn the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government against Cuba for almost 60 years, which continues provoking damages to the Cuban people and hindering the economic development of the country, despite the claims to end it expressed by the overwhelming majority of the international community during 25 years.
Organized by the Revolutionary Communist Group (RCG), a massive activity took place last Saturday, October 14th, at the headquarters of the Central University of London, in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Triumph of the October Socialist Revolution. At the ceremony, Cuban Ambassador Teresita Vicente took the floor and answered questions from a young and active audience, eager to know the Cuban and Latin American reality, and made reference to the validity of Marxism-Leninism in our society nowadays.
New York, October 13, 2017. In an environment where arts and music transported those present to Cuba, the #UnblockCuba exhibit was inaugurated at the Center for Cuban Studies in the City of New York. The exhibit showed the three award winning posters and other fifteen best works of the international Poster Contest bearing the same name, which official announcement was made in May of this year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and the National Design Office of Cuba.
Zambia, October 14, 2017. The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz sent a warm congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu on the occasion of the Zambian National Day and the 53rd anniversary of the independence.
