New York, October 13, 2017. Since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959, ensuring free medical care for the entire population of the country has been an inviolable principle for the Cuban state and government, for which the health of its citizens is essential. Therefore, the purpose of subjugating the Cuban people through starvation and disease as a way of violating their right to self-determination has not been effective.

The Cuba –Belize cooperation continues

Belize, October 13th, 2017. Andria  Rosado a representative of “The Coastal Zone Management Authority & Institute of Belize”  will be attendingthe Training Workshop “Disaster Risk Management and Adaption to Climate Change to enhance resilience in communities and ecosystems in the Caribbean region”. The training event will take place in Havana from October 16th to October 20th, 2017 and  is part of the Cuba-CARICOM cooperation.

Press Release: Cuba fulfills its financial obligations to the United Nations, despite difficulties imposed by United States blockade.

New York, October 13, 2017. During her statement on Item 138 of the agenda of the United Nations Fifth Committee, entitled “Improving the Financial Situation of the United Nations”, Cuban Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodriguez Abascal, Cuba’s Deputy Permanent Representative to that institution, thanked the recognition received --together with other 30 countries-- for having fulfilled all their financial obligations to the Organization.

The Bahamas reiterates its support to Cuba against the blockade

THE BAHAMAS, 11 October 2017.-The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, Sharon Brennen-Haylock, received the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The Cuban representative expressed her gratitude for the call by the Bahamian Foreign Minister during the general debate at the UN General Assembly to lifting the blockade.

During the Thematic Debate on Nuclear Weapons of the First Committee of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Cuban Ambassador Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, warned that the intentional or accidental detonation of a tiny part of the almost 15,000 existing nuclear weapons would have disastrous consequences for our planet and the future of humanity.
