Pretoria, 24 May 2019.- The first Vice President of Cuba Salvador Mesa participated in an event of solidarity with Cuba organized by the government organizations alliance in South Africa, which are the African National Congress, the South Africa Communist Party and the Congress of South African Trade Unions; as well as by the Friends of Cuba Society of South Africa.

The Embassy of Cuba in Ireland expresses on behalf of the Cuban workers and the Cuban people in general to the Cork Council of Trade Unions their deepest gratitude for this gesture of solidarity.

Kuala Lumpur, May 23- The Director of Americas of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, Ms. Kamsiah Khamairuddin received the Cuban Ambassador in Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández.

During the meeting both diplomats exchanged about the state of bilateral relations and the Cuban ambassador reported on the latest aggressive actions applied by the United States against Cuba, especially chapter III of the Helms Burton Act, whose start-up has already begun to create difficulties for the Cuban people.

Wellington - During a brief meeting with Cuban diplomats in New Zealand, the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Charlot Salwai, expressed his gratitude and satisfaction for the results of the Cuban medical cooperation with his country.

The leader of the small Pacific island highlighted the insertion in local hospitals and clinics of young graduates from his country, who have attended medicine studies in Cuba.

Charlot Salwai is visiting New Zealand, where he has completed a bilateral agenda and held official talks with Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.

The Bahamas, 22 May 2019. In a cordial and dynamic meeting, representatives of Public Private Investments Ltd (PPIL), a Bahamian company focused on heritage education and community development presented the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to The Bahamas with a valuable piece of historical research on Cuba which dates back to 1899. The text, entitled “Report on the Census of Cuba”, is over 700 pages including plentiful statistics and high quality illustrations.
