Yesterday the U.S. Treasury Department added to sanctions announced April 17, and the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, the prohibition of "people to people" cultural and educational trips, plus other restrictions on travel and transportation services, remittances, banking, commerce, and telecommunications.

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the measures announced by the United States Government on 4 June 2019, further tightening the economic blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years, at a cost for the Cuban economy which amounted to over 134 billion dollars in 2018 at current prices, and to the figure of 933 billion dollars, taking into account the devaluation of the US dollar vis-à-vis the price of gold in the world market.

DETROIT — The Detroit Caucus welcomed the Cuban Delegation in Lansing yesterday to discuss building cooperative relations with Cuba in trade, education, health care, agriculture and the arts. State Rep. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo (D-Detroit), chair of the Detroit Caucus, led the group in welcoming Cuban Diplomat Yanet Pumariega Perez.

Georgetown, June 5, 2019. The Vice President and Minister of Indigenous Peoples Affairs, Honorable Sydney Allicock, the Minister of Public Health, Honorable Volda Lawrence, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana, Honorable Dr. Karen Cummings and Dr. Shamdeo Persaud , Chief Medical Director of Guyana visited the Cuban showground exhibition site at the Health Expo 2019, where the main outcomes of Cuban medical collaboration in that Caribbean country and in the world are exhibited.

 

During the visit, the high Guyanese authorities shared with the Ambassador and with members of the medical Collaboration Brigade.
