Minister of Tourism of Barbados to strengthen cooperation with Cuba and CTO.

The Barbadian Minister of Tourism, Richard Sealy, current president of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), confirmed the aspiration of this regional organization to deepen the historic ties of cooperation with Cuba, during a meeting with Cuban Ambassador in this country, Francisco Fernandez, accompanied by CTO Secretary General, Hugh Riley. At that meeting Mr. Huge Riley made a detailed presentation of existing partnerships, upcoming activities the organization, including the promotion of Cuban tourism in international markets where the CTO offices, such as Canada and Europe.

Waitangi. On the occasion of the National Day of New Zealand, Ambassador of Cuba, Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, held a brief meeting with the Governor General, Hon. Mr. Lieutenant General Sir. Jerry Mateparae, at which time he moved congratulations on behalf of the Cuban government and people for the commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, historical fact that marks the celebration of the national holiday in New Zealand.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Barbados reviewed the bilateral agenda with Cuban Ambassador.

Mrs. Simone Rudder, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in office, received  the Cuban Foreign Ministry Barbadian Ambassador, Francisco Fernández, meeting served to review the main issues of bilateral and regional agenda. The occasion was propitious to coordinate actions in the face of the Third CELAC Summit, to be held on 28th and 29th of January in Costa Rica. Also, the willingness to further develop cooperation in various spheres was identified.

Cuban President and Prime Minister of Barbados held official talks in Havana.

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, held official talks on Sunday December 7 at the Palace of the Revolution, the Right Honourable Freundel Stuart, Prime Minister of Barbados, who is on an official visit to our country and chairs the Barbadian delegation to the CARICOM-Cuba Summit V. During the cordial meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the excellent state of the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation that bind two nations and reiterated the mutual desire to continue developing.

Prime Minister of Barbados receives the new Cuban Ambassador

The Prime Minister of Barbados, Honourable Freundel Stuart, received in courtesy visit to the new Ambassador of Cuba, Francisco Fernández Peña. In his welcoming remarks highlighted the high meaning for his country bilateral historical ties and recalled the courage it took for the whole region the act of establishment of diplomatic relations with Cuba 42 years ago, in the days of the Cold War, with a common neighbor so powerful.

Cuban Ambassador presented Letters of Credence to the Governor General of Barbados.

The Governor General of Barbados, Sir Elliott Fitzroy Belgrave, received the Credentials of the new Ambassador of Cuba in that country, Francisco Fernández Peña, in a ceremony at the Government Palace, accompanied by the First Secretary, Ana Labaut de Dios. In his presentation, Fernández Peña stressed its commitment to advance the development of bilateral relations and expand the existing cooperation.
