ALBA Embassies to celebrate March 8th in Barbados.

The International Women's Day was held in Barbados by the two embassies of ALBA-TCP countries, Venezuela and Cuba,  in a Sunday day of sport and recreation fraternization in which officials and workers of both diplomatic missions, in conjunction with members of the Cuban Community Residents participated in Barbados, dedicated to sharing with the genre that represents "the forge of life" and eternal companion of man in all his battles, without whose smile and no work effort is complete, as José Martí stated.

Ambassador of Cuba Cuba inaugurated the Annual Festival New Zealand starring Cuban residents

Rotorua, March 8, 2015. Invited by the Chairman of the Festival Committee Sponsor Cuba-New Zealand, Mr. Petera Hudson, Cuba's ambassador Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro formally opened the event, which featured a large audience, which included traditional Maori representatives (Te Arawapeople), local authorities, Cuban residents, sponsors and the general public.

DLP Secretary General met the Cuban Ambassador.

The Secretary General of the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP), Mr. George Pilgrim, was received by the Cuban ambassador, Francisco Fernandez, in a fraternal encounter at his headquarters, in which the barbadian official welcomed the diplomat while served to review bilateral relations, recognizing the need for a systematic exchange between both parties. Mr. Pilgrim thanked the postcard sent by Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera, Head of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), addressed to the Right Honourable Freundel J.

Leader of the Opposition in Barbados met the Cuban Ambassador.

The Honourable Mia Mottley, Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP), received in his Parliament seat of the Cuban ambassador, Francisco Fernández Peña, accompanied by fellow Member of Parliament for the BLP, Mr. Trevor Prescod, time that is welcomed the country to diplomatic and was also conducive to highlight the historical relations of friendship between the two countries and between the BLP and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

UN agencies assess triangular cooperation involving Cuba.

UN Development Program and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are evaluating the possible participation of Cuban experts in project management and vector control that could be applied in Barbados and presumably in other OECS countries, as analyzed with the Cuban ambassador Francisco Fernandez, in a meeting chaired by UNDP Deputy Representative, Ms. Lara Blanco, which also included Ms. Sally Edwards, PAHO Environmental Advisor on Health and Sustainable Development to Barbados and OECS, and Ms. Danielle Evanson, UNDP Programme Manager for climate change and disaster reduction.

Director of Multilateral Affairs of the Foreign Ministry receives Cuban Ambassador to Barbados.

Mrs. Joyce Bourne, Director of Multilateral Affairs of the Foreign Ministry received the Cuban Ambassador to Barbados, Francisco Fernández Peña, occasion to discuss cooperation in the field of external relations, as both countries share spaces in various agencies of the United Nations. Besides commenting on the progress of various political international issues, was exchanged on the subject of applications for positions in some international institutions.

FAO appreciated Cuban technical assistance against Black Sigatoka in OECS region.

FAO Sub regional Coordinator, Dr. JR Deep Ford, positively assessed in a meeting with Cuban Ambassador to Barbados, Francisco Fernández Peña, support of Cuban government to the program in progress to confront the Black Sigatoka in the Caribbean countries. At the moment the Cuban expert, Dr. Luis Pérez-Vicente, makes a working tour through banana plantations of 5 OECS members countries that have been affected by this disease, as part of a technical assistance financed with funds from the sub regional FAO office, based in Barbados.

Minister of Education of Barbados discusses bilateral cooperation with Cuban Ambassador.

The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Education of Barbados, Hon. Ronald D. Jones, received in his office the Cuban ambassador, Francisco Fernández Peña, to analyze the progress of bilateral cooperation and noted the high significance of the Cuban cooperation, both among their countries and with the rest of the sister nations of CARICOM, why he aimed to maintain and expand on areas where possible.

Wellington, 12 February 2015. As part of a solemn ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Beijing held the official signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and New Zealand to support the Cuban health care Pacífico.El Islands in the document signed by Mr. Craig Hawke, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador of Cuba María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, marks a milestone in the sustained development of relations between the two countries.
