Nassau, 20 February 2017.- The Bahamian capital will host the International Symposium "Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SAMOA Pathway in Small Island Developing States - SIDS: Equipping Public Institutions and Mobilizing Partnership", from February 21-23.
The 1996 Convention will enter into force for Cuba on 1 December 2017. Cuba is currently Party to one other Hague Convention, namely the 1993 Intercountry Adoption Convention.
Conductors of the program "Power", jointly produced by the Lebanese TV station Al-Mayadeen and the multinational TeleSur, interviewed the Cuban Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada in Tehran. The dialogue focused on the new challenges for Latin America and in particular for Cuba, in the current regional scenario.
Accompanied by several colleagues, Mr. Emmanuel Nuquay, Speaker of the Liberian House of Representatives, received the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, within the framework of a courtesy visit of the latter to the Liberian parliamentarian. The meeting took place in the Conference Hall of the House and also attended by the Second Secretary Carme Maury, for the Cuban side.

Indonesia, February 18, 2016. A representation of Cubans residents in Indonesia held a friendly meeting at the Diplomatic Mission of our country in this capital, on the occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution and the 164th Anniversary of the Birth of Jose Martí.
During the meeting they exchanged with the diplomats of the Mission about topics of interest related to the events in Cuba and they remembered anecdotes of their life at the homeland. The activity was enlivened with typical Cuban dishes and drinks.
The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, received a representation of the Cuban Solidarity Campaign with the objective to thank of all them for the support to the Cuban people during 2016.
The Cuban Ambassador ratified the historic Cuban´s commitments towards the Ghanaian people and emphasized how in the 2016, our friends in Ghana celebrated the 90 birthday of Fidel Castro, have also participated in his farewell; as well as they have kept denouncing the U.S blockade against the Cuban people.
