Today, April 14, 2022 marks the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Grenada and the Republic of Cuba.

It was a bold step, taken in 1979, that heralded a new era of relations between Grenada and Cuba that has blossomed into one of close friendship, mutual understanding and a level of technical cooperation that has brought tremendous benefits to both countries.

GIS interviewed Cuban Ambassador on 43 anniversary of bilateral relations.

St. George, April 13th, 2022.- On occasion of 43 anniversary of establishing bilateral relations between Cuba and Grenada, the Governmental Information Service of Grenada (GIS) interviewed Ambassador Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, who took the opportunity to convey greetings from Cuban people and Government to the people and Government of Grenada.

During the interview, Cuban Ambassador thank the people and Government of Grenada for their solidarity against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade towards Cuba.

Dear brother and sisters,

It is an honor and a pleasure to have been invited to participate in this event. It is an extraordinary opportunity to know and learn more about the historical and cultural wealth of your people.

I was wondering what to tell you today, after everything that has been said in the last two years about Cuban medicine and scientists, whose attitudes honor and exalt the Homeland.

As we have done and will continue to do, I return to Fidel and his founding words.

St. George, March, 18, 2022. Cuban Ambassador, Luis E. Morejón Rodríguez, meet with the Council of Union of Grenada to promote the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba next May 1st.

We call for the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, chaired by the motto "United, those who love and found", as a worthy tribute to our National Hero José Martí on the 170th anniversary of his birth, the 64th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the eternal legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, paradigm of international solidarity, he said.
