El 17 de enero, ocurrió un atentado con carro bomba contra la sede de la Escuela de Cadetes de la Policía General Francisco de Paula Santander, causando la pérdida de 21 vidas humanas y 68 heridos.
STATEMENT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
On January 17, the General Police Cadets School Francisco de Paula Santader was the target of a car bomb attack that took a toll on the lives of 21 persons and injured another 68.
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Uzbekistan, Alfredo Fidel Nieves Portuondo, presented his Letters of Credentials to the Chancellor, Abdulaziz Kamilov, in an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this Central Asian nation.
In the solemn ceremony, both exchanged about the state of bilateral relations and expressed their desire to work to promote cooperation in sectors such as medicine, culture, sports and tourism.
