Artists United in New Zealand to Mitigate Hurricane Damage in Cuba

Wellington, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) Aware of the stories of his colleague Osmeivy Ortega about the damage Hurricane Irma caused in Cuba, New Zealand artists will auction some works by the two countries and will allocate what will be collected to the reconstruction of the Caribbean island.

Renowned painters Michel Tuffery, John Walsh, Stephen Ellis and Seraphine Pick, potter Andy Kingston and sculptor Clovis Viscoe are some of those who will participate in the Expo-Sale, in which about 20 engravings and paintings by 17 important Cuban artists are also included.

The Caribbean Wax Museum reopens with sculptures devoted to Fidel Castro and Ché Guevara

Chaired by the Minister of Tourism of Barbados, Richard Sealy, the Caribbean Wax Museum was reopened in Bridgetown by its directors Frances Ross and Art Edwards, who are also the artists of this emblematic place, including new works that represent various heroes of the Caribbean and Latin America. The Ambassador of Cuba, Francisco Fernández, was invited to the ceremony in which he highlighted the sculptures of Commanders Fidel Castro and Ernesto "Ché" Guevara, who were recognized by the distinct audience as visionary leaders of our independence.

Dublin, November 24, 2017, The traditional Cuban film festival that the Cuban Embassy celebrates annually in coordination with the "Progresive Film Club" was inaugurated tonight with the presentation of the documentary "Fidel es Fidel" by director Roberto Chile. In this way, a well-deserved tribute was paid to Comandante Fidel on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance.

The XVI Political Council of the ALBA-TCP will take place this Thursday, December 14, in Havana. The appointment will allow to arrange actions; to explore new opportunities for integration and reaffirm the commitment of unity, cooperation and solidarity among the nations that make up the Alliance in the current regional conjuncture.
The ALBA-TCP is a bastion of respect and observance of the precepts of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, adopted at the II Summit of Community of Latin American and Caribbean States in Havana in January 2014.
