We, the Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community and the Republic of Cuba, meeting in St. Mary’s, Antigua and Barbuda, on 8 December 2017, on the occasion of the Sixth CARICOM-Cuba Summit and in commemoration of the forty-fifth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations among the independent states of CARICOM and Cuba and the fifteenth anniversary of CARICOM-Cuba Day.

Cuba and The Bahamas strengthen ties in the area of health

NASSAU, December 8th, 2017. - The Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, held yesterday afternoon a cordial meeting with the Bahamian Minister of Health, Dr. Duane Ernest Lascelles Sands, at the headquarters of this institution.

During the exchange, both parties reviewed the existing collaboration in this sector and discussed the possibility of expanding the number of Cuban health professionals in The Bahamas.

Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia received the Ambassador of Cuba

meeting Cuban Ambassador in The Gambia, Lázaro Herrera, Vice President, Mrs. Fatoumata Tambajang,

The Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, Mrs. Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang, received Cuban Ambassador Lazaro Herrera Martínez at the Government House, with whom she held a fraternal meeting.

The occasion allowed a fruitful exchange during which the two parties expressed interest in strengthening friendship and extending the collaboration to other areas, beyond the medical assistance that the island has offered to the African country for more than two decades.
