New York, October 19, 2018. The extraterritorial nature of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for almost 60 years has been widened by the Helms-Burton Act, affecting all areas of the Cuban economy, and therefore, its people.
Some examples that stand out between April 2017 and March 2018 are:
Kuala Lumpur, October 17- Representatives of the three friendship associations with Cuba in the Philippines, the José Martí Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA), Friendship and the Friendship Society of the Philippines (PCFS) together with the Cuban ambassador in that country deposited a floral offering before the bust of José Martí, to commemorate the 165th anniversary of his birth that is commemorated this year.
The Ambassador of Cuba in Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, participated in the National Tourism Summit held in Baku and organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Tourism Office of Azerbaijan.
At the event, the Cuban diplomat held talks with Fuad Naghiyev, Head of the State Tourism Agency and with Florian Sengstschmid, senior director of the Tourism Office of Azerbaijan.
At the opening of the event, the president of the Fuad Naghiyev agency highlighted the importance of developing tourism in Azerbaijan as one of the priority areas of the country's economy.

New York, October 18, 2018. From the second semester of 2017, the blockade has had a negative and unprecedented impact on the Caribbean nation, especially on the banking and financial area. Although the enactment of the Helms-Burton Act and the extraterritorial nature of the blockade determined the creation of "antidote legislation" designed by third countries to protect themselves against possible damages caused by the implementation of this policy, the intimidating effect of the blockade against Cuba has prevented these regulations from being properly implemented.

17 October, Port of Spain – With the presence of the main members of the Trinidadian press, including the three Trinidadian newspapers with national coverage, diplomats and officials of the Cuban medical brigade in the Caribbean country, presided over by the Cuban Ambassador Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, the Cuban report to the United Nations on the implementation of the Cuban Resolution 72/4 “Necessity to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba” was presented.
