Cork, October 2018. The Cuban poet Alexis Diaz Pimienta in his recent work visit to the University of Cork to participate in the Latin American Days, wanted to leave as a gift one of his poetic improvisations to this house of higher education and its professors, students and friends who received him.

The beautiful garden of the University, its many colors and the warmth of its people inspired the poet, who left this gift in verses, within the framework of the Cuban Culture Day.

Cubans in Ghana reiterate their condemnation of the blockade and the usurpation of part of the Cuban territory

Under the emblem "The Cuban culture sword and shield of our nation", the 7th Cuban Meeting of Cuban Living in Ghana and the 3rd Meeting of Children and Youth were held at the T-Havana Parks, on the "Cuban Culture Day". The meeting was attended by 52 people, including Cuban residents, children and other relatives.

The meeting was conducted by Yovanna Cobas and Beatriz Roll, Coordinator and Vice-Coordinator of the Association of Cubans Living in Ghana, who emphasized the importance of both meetings in a month where important historical dates are celebrated.

In the activity to celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture, Arianna Taylor Israel, the President of the Association of Cubans living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines "Juan Almeida Bosque", read a Declaration issued by that organization in which it demanded the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and the return of the territory, illegally occupied by the Guantánamo Naval Base.

During the celebration in the Embassy of Cuba, the day of the National Culture and the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars of independence, Renwick Rose, President of the Friendship Association Saint Vincent and the Grenadines-Cuba, read a Declaration, issued by that organization, a few days before, on the occasion of the anniversary and pondered the historical coincidence that, at this time, the Vincentian people are preparing to celebrate a new anniversary of its existence as an independent State.

THE YOUNG GENERATION OF CUBANS, RESIDENTS IN SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES BROUGHT TALENT AND PATRIOTISM TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE CUBAN DAY OF CULTURE.

The young generation of Cubans living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines was present at the Embassy of Cuba to participate in the celebration of culture day, with their own contribution of talent and patriotism.

With their virtuoso performances of the Bayamo Hymn and other Cuban melodies on Steel Pan, the children Mathew Ernesto Ralph Israel and Michel Enrique Israel, made a substantive contribution to the celebration of Cuban National Culture Day.

With a patriotic and colorful political-cultural activity at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the day of Cuban national culture was celebrated and the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars of independence was commemorated.

In her speech, Cuban Ambassador Vilma Reyes Valdespino, referred to the historical context, in which this ephemerid, so special for the nation, takes its origin and stressed that culture, rebellion and independence are the basis of Cuban identity.
