New York, October 5, 2017. Despite the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, the policy of blockade against Cuba is maintained and applied with full rigor. In September 2017, US President Donald Trump, just like his predecessors have done, extended for one year the application of economic sanctions to Cuba under the legal framework set in the "Trading with the Enemy Act".

Ulan Bator, Mongolia. October 5, 2017. Mr. Ochirbat Dagvadorj, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia, confirmed this morning the interest in continuing to work to register and implement projects to care for Mongolian patients with Cuban biotechnological products.

On September 29, 2017, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced the decision to significantly downscale the diplomatic staff of the US embassy in Havana and withdraw all their relatives, claiming that there had been “attacks” perpetrated against US Government officials in Cuba which have harmed their health.

During a working visit to Spain, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) Mr. Luis Miguel Díaz, met with the local press in the Madrid offices of Grupo Excelencias.

In this meeting, the deputy minister thanked the press for its quick response in such a short notice and for the opportunity to meet with the main tour operators, airlines and specialized press to give them an update of the situation of Cuban tourism, its state and recovery after the passing of Hurricane Irma.

Cuban Ambassador Elio Savón Oliva was received this morning by the Vice-President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa. During the meeting the Cuban diplomat spoke about the good state of the relations and the positive of his stay in Zimbabwe. The vice president continued the conversation naming several of the programs that were implemented in the last 4 years. He also spoke about how important the Cuban country has been for Cuban aid in sectors such as health and education since its independence.
