CUBA, April 12th, 2019.- Representatives from Cuba and the European Union will meet this Tuesday, April 16th, in Havana, to hold the first Dialogue on Sustainable Development Cuba-European Union. The Cuban delegation will be headed by Director General for Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez, and the European part, by the Director General for International Cooperation and Development at the European Commission, Stefano Manservisi.

Minister of Health of Lebanon receives Cuban Ambassador

Beirut April 15, 2019. The Minister of Health of Lebanon, Jamil Jabaq, received today the Ambassador of Cuba, Alexander Pellicer Moraga at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of the Lebanese Republic.

The two officials analyzed the possibilities of establishing mechanisms of cooperation in the health sector and in the production of medicines. The possibility of exchanging experiences between professionals from both nations was also analyzed.

Lecture by the Ambassador of Cuba at Badr University of Cairo

The Ambassador of Cuba in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernández, gave a lecture at Badr University of Cairo, in the context of the 4th Latino Festival organized by that educational center. The lecture had the blockade of the United States against Cuba as its central axis, which aroused great interest among the attendants.

Also, she took the opportunity to explore the possibilities of cooperation between that university and its Cuban counterparts, and there were also an exchange on Cuban culture and economy.

The XIII Edition of the Biennial began in Havana

Pretoria, April 15, 2019.-  The XIII Biennial of Havana was officially inaugurated on Friday morning, an event sponsored by the National Council of Plastic Arts and the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center.
Under the general theme "the Construction of the Possible" the present edition of the Biennial was presented by its organizers as a space for those typologies of contemporary art that understand creation as a "living event".

Despite the US blockade, Cuba has raised the quality of life of the elderly.

New York, 15 April 2019. In his statement at the Tenth Session of the United Nations Open-Ended Working Group on Aging, Jorge Luis Cepero Aguilar, Second Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, stated that in the island the increase in the quality of life of the elderly has been possible thanks to the political will of the Government and to the efforts and participation of the people.
