Cuba prepares for referendum on new Family Code

Havana, 29 July 2022. The electoral bodies at different levels continue to be formed in Cuba on Friday, as part of the preparations for next September's popular referendum on the new Family Code.

Last week, the National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP, Parliament) approved to take to this democratic exercise the 25th version of the legal text, for which the National Electoral Council and its institutions at different levels will develop training actions and other preparations.

Diaz-Canel calls for unity among communist parties around the world

Havana, 28 July 2022. The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, described unity among the world's communist groups as necessary and urgent, Granma newspaper reported on its website on Thursday.

According to the newspaper, in a message to the International Forum of Marxist Parties, held virtually and organized by the Communist Party of China, the Cuban head of State expressed gratitude for the opportunity to exchange theoretical advances and practical experiences of these organizations.

Cuban Deputy Minister of Communications heads delegation to the United Nations

New York, 27 July 2022.  Since 22 July, Cuba has been participating in the third substantive session of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) on security of and in the use of information and communications technologies 2021-2025.

The Cuban delegation participating in the event, led by the Deputy Minister of Communications Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, will contribute to the discussions on the draft annual progress report of this Group.
