Cuban Foreign Minister received Colombian government delegation

Havana, 11 August 2022. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla received on Thursday a delegation from the Colombian government that traveled to Havana to begin talks with the National Liberation Army (ELN) to resume peace talks.

On a Twitter thread, Rodriguez appreciated the statement made by Colombian Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva, in which he called for an end to the illegitimate designation of Cuba as a State sponsor of terrorism by the U.S. Government.

Diaz-Canel extols heroism, solidarity in response to fire in Matanzas

Matanzas,10 August 2022. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday praised the heroism and solidarity that have allowed making progress in the efforts to extinguish the large-scale fire at the Matanzas Supertanker Base.

On his Twitter account, the president stressed that even if a twist of the wind can fan the fire while fuel remains within reach of the flames, nothing will take away the certainty that heroism and solidarity will extinguish it.

UNESCO is willing to help Cuba to recover after fire

Paris, August 10, 2022. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) expressed its willingness to support Cuba in the recovery process after the fire that has affected Matanzas.
