Cuba updates policies for foreign investment

Havana, 21 July 2022. Cuba has updated policies for foreign investment in order to eliminate obstacles that limit access to foreign financing, vital for the performance of the economy, Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca, explained on Wednesday.

The minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment explained to the lawmakers at the Economic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) the actions implemented after the body’s accountability to the legislature last December.

Havana, 21 July 2022. Cuban music and its performers are at the crossroads of the United States blockade against the Caribbean island, lawmaker Lisette Martinez denounced on Wednesday.

The legislator made that statement at one of the permanent work commissions of the National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP), which is debating sensitive issues for the country in the prelude to the 9th ordinary session of the current legislature of Parliament.

More Cubans have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Havana, 21 July 2022. The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Thursday that 9,976,734 Cubans, who make up 90 percent of the population, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to the Ministry’s website, 10,682,802 citizens have been administered a shot of homegrown vaccines; 9,419,017 people have received the second dose; and 9,120,464 Cubans have been administered the third dose.
