From Saint Kitts and Nevis, love bridges were also extended this weekend, as part of the international mobilizations that have taken place in solidarity with Cuba, and in rejection of the criminal policy of the United States against the island.
The mobilization was also conducive to welcome the upcoming International Workers' Day and served as a starting point for the agenda that throughout the month of May will commemorate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Cuba.
The ALBA-TCP member countries reaffirm our firm solidarity with the Cuban people and government, express our support for its legitimate denunciation against enemy campaigns, as well as our recognition of its tireless efforts to overcome all the difficulties resulting from the brutal and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States of America against Cuba, which since the Lester Mallory Memorandum has been causing hardships to the Cuban people in order to justify an external intervention.
As every year, the annual meeting took place with representatives of the associations that bring together solidarity with Cuba in Saint Kitts and Nevis, in which the affection, admiration and commitment to the Republic of Cuba was manifested by each of those present.
The main topics of greatest relevance for the period were reviewed and some of the initiatives that are already being worked on were presented.
A delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba led by Standing Committee of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba Roberto Morales Ojeda paid a visit to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO).
On behalf of HUFO leadership, HUFO Chairman Do Viet Ha warmly welcomed the delegation talking about the formation and development of HUFO over the past 35 years.
This 2023 will be a cycle of many initiatives and joint activities, from the associations that make up solidarity with Cuba in the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Their main representatives, Telca Wallace, of the SKN-Cuba Friendship Association and Hollis Prentice, of the graduates’ association, held meetings with the diplomatic staff of the Embassy of Cuba, in which they presented their plan of activities planned for the whole year.
The Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association (VCFA) on August 17 sent out a letter calling for donations to Cuban people to help them overcome current difficulties.
The letter said the fraternal Cuban country and people are struggling against countless difficulties and challenges as they continue to be under a strict embargo amid COVID-19 pandemic, especially a recent oil storage facility fire incident at an industrial zone near Matanzas that seriously hit lives of the Cuban people.
